Richard S. Wilson


Richard S. Wilson brings more than 15 years of online experience to this publication. He is the owner of Compuology, a genealogical-based computer company. He has been doing genealogical research for more than 19 years. He received his Bachelors Degree from the California State University Long Beach. He has taught a monthly Computer Interest Group for the Whittier Area Genealogy Society (WAGS) from 1992 to 1997.

He is the state coordinator for the California USGenWeb Project on the Internet. He is the past president of the Southern California Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists.

Richard is a nationally known genealogical lecturer. He has spoken at the 1997 Federation of Genealogical Societies Conference in Dallas Texas, the GENTECH 1998 Conference in Fort Wayne Indiana, the 1998 Utah Genealogical Association (UGA) annual conference in Salt Lake City Utah in April 1998, the National Genealogical Society's 1998 Conference in the States at Denver Colorado in May, 1998, the National Genealogical Society's 1999 Conference in the States at Richmond Virginia in May, 1999.
This year Richard will be speaking at the GENTECH 2000 National conference in San Diego in January 2000, the National Genealogical Society's Conference in the States at Providance, Rhode Island in May-June, 2000 and the Federation of Genealogical Societies Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah in September 2000.

He has memberships in the National Genealogical Society, the Association of Professional Genealogists, the Genealogical Speakers Guild, the California State Genealogical Alliance, a life membership in the Whittier Area Genealogy Society, as well as many other local genealogical societies.

Richard is also the co-author of The Internet For Genealogists: A Beginner's Guide
